Starting a Magazine on a Shoestring Budget
Part A
One of the most interesting things I’ve done over the last several months is to try to start a print magazine. After reading everything I could find on how to start a magazine I tried the approach that other print magazines in the area were using: no subscriptions plus inexpensive distribution, i.e. drop points.
I was able to put together an experienced and dedicated group of editors and writers, experienced layout and graphic design artists, a consulting team of former magazine publishers and a reliable printer (Print Pelican), but the one thing I couldn’t do was generate funding for the project. This model required about $20,000 per month for each issue of the magazine just to cover costs. I understand why so many magazines are going totally online.
The cost of actually having 20,000 copies of the magazine printed required the ad rates to be too high for this area with a standard full page ad at $2400 for a one time insert or $1750 each month for twelve months. These rates were lower than other area magazine’s rates (Showcase for example-pdf), but after contacting more than two hundred area businesses that regularly advertize in local magazines and not getting a single ad, I gave up on this model. The rate card I was using is below.

Hi there…I am almost exactly one month behind you as I had surgery Dec. 4 in Miami Beach, FL. The warm weather helps and I certainly don’t have to deal
with snow or ice. Question: On your second visit to the doc, did he give you the instruction to do weight bearing at your own pace or with specific limits,
and if so, what were they? I am scheduled for Jan 20 visit when I am expected to do wb with crutches. Also, how early did you do exercises, massages, and PT?
Finally, when did you start ice?
I appreciate any answers you give me.

your shoes may be a problem. orthotics would be a good idea.. but then again i find when i use my asics running shoes instead of my orthotics it feels better. but what you want to make sure you do is ice your shins. look on the internet or consult your doctor on how to treat your shins splints..even physio

DIET AND EXERCISE. Neither surgery will fix your problem, which is that you eat too much and refuse to get your lazy ass off of the couch. You can have liposuction to suck out all the fat but you’ll only put it back if you don’t change your lifestyle.

If you just need to weld metal, eg. wrought iron, etc… you need a good mig welder they cost from 400 to 600.00. You use spools of interflux wire you dont need any type of gas to run it. It has good strength, easy to run and handle. The heat is easy to control. It takes practice on scrap metal such as plates or scrap from a salvage store. You need a welding hood and good leather gloves. Propane is very hot and you need a lot of practice. the mig is easier to learn and easier to handle. It only requires about a 110 circuit.

if the rubberbands are small then no you wont be able to do it with your fingers alone, especially if your fingernails are long, if they are big then maybe, if you want to keep your nails, i suggest using something like tweezers.

the process is called normalizing ,,,pretty easy though …sonaflux the surface to look for cracks .. then when your sure the weld is good (x-ray or whatever) heat the weld and anneal to proper values..Most are air cooled and this reducing the associated stresses and extraordinary moments created…Merry Christmas-Happy New year…from the E

There are two types of memory cards. The regular ones and the high capacity ones. The latter were introduced after the originals and they’re slightly different in hardware. Ok, here is the problem, you want to play games on this laptop like the Sims 2 which is an ok graphic game. Sorry to tell you this, but it wont run fast at all. I would be suprised even if i could even start! The Intel Gma graphic card are not meant for anygames exept mayb the little kid games that have no graphics at all. I know this because i had an Intel Gma on my computer and tried to run Css, AND IT IS HORRIBLE! And here is another thing: Celeron M processors are one of the lowest processors out there! you may not get the speed you want. And with 512mb of RAM for vista home basic…..you better buy another 512mb! because vista home basic will run REALLY slow and i mean REALLY slow with only 512mb of RAM. I would not get this laptop if i were you. You need a better processor and a better graphic card for Sims 2 and more RAM to even start your computer fast.
