In following John Locke's plan I need a "Saving Rachael" novel to define my target audience. I have that but as yet haven't really defined my target audience with any degree of confidence. The only thing I really know is they range from a really tech savvy young engineer and sports caster in the Netherlands, a pagan mom whose children really love the story and an honest to goodness blacksmith in the mid-west.

Below is who I think my target audience is, but the fact is I could be mistaken:

  • Parents with kids in the formative years that want them to know a great education is very important as is learning to stand up to bullies and to work at being great in whatever they do and greatness will find them.

  • People that remember when right and wrong had no gray areas and doing the right thing was important. Use of force, even violent force are options when it comes to fighting evil.

  • People that realize they can and do make a difference and are willing to help others when they need help.

  • People that like sword fights.

  • People who realize that spirituality is a part of our total selves.

  • People that would like to see kids get more credit for the things that they can do and have done.

  • People that like seeing a normal person face seemingly impossible odds and win.

  • People that believe supernatural powers can be learned and used at will if they only understood how.

  • People that like an action packed read.

  • People that like humble heroes.

  • People that believe close friends are like family.

  • People that feel safe letting a kid read a story even if it has violence because they know the violence is in combating evil.

 

To the right I've listed the goals I've set based on John Locke's book, How I Sold 1 Million eBooks in 5 Months, along with way points for each goal. If you like you can check back periodically to see how I'm doing.
